The Double Agents

July 14th, 2010

Q and A with Martin Bond:

How would you describe your music?
The secret agents of music feature original music influenced by the best of pop, rock and spy prior to 1974 when music had quality.

Who are the band members?
The Double Agents are Martin Bond (singer/composer), Steve Deutsch (keyboards), Rich Hunter (guitar/singer) , Kit Dennis (bass) and Robert Pina (drums).

What’s your email for booking the band?
doubleagents@ymail.com

It’s been reported that you’re the illegitimate child of Pussy Galore and Tom Jones.
My legend has been wildly misinterpreted.

How did the current band come about?
The band is an outgrowth of Marty Zucker & the Falcons. Many of the songs in our current repertoire are on the CD “So Good To See Me” available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/martyzfalcons1
and other online outlets. I approached Rich and Steve who were instrumental in getting the ball rolling. They produced the CD. Kit and Robert were enlisted through security checks.

What songs do you play in concert that are not on the album?
Hey Bulldog, Secret Agent Man etc..

Why was your knighthood rejected?
I recieved a telegram saying that I was deemed “to sexy for this world”.

Will there be a Rock Band game of the band?
Eventually.

What part of the world do you come from?
From the west coast of North America in a city called Los Angeles.

How was your World Tour?
It proved to me that music really is a universal language.
Seeing people who don’t speak English singing your songs with you is an amazing feeling.

Are you on tour now?
We now play in Los Angeles.

What’s your philosophy on touring?
Times have changed. Our fans don’t want to wait for us to come to their town so we stay in one city so they can come see us. I call it reverse touring. Our audience has more disposable income than we do.

Do women still scream when you perform?
Do you mean on stage? Yes.

How good are you musically?
When many people say “you are the shit” there must be some truth to it.

Who’s your audience?
Seems to be attractive women, record collectors and the american idle.

What’s unique about your band is that you have
charisma, an identity, and good songs.
Thank you.

That’s a rare commodity. You and your band seem to be in a class by yourselves. It’s refreshing.
Thank you.

You’ve been called one of the greatest singers of your generation.
I’m honored.

Is your music career an important outlet for you?
It’s an release of pent up expression that wouldn’t be appropriate in other facets of my life.

…….will be the new working moniker for the band formerly known as Martin Zucker & MI5, formerly known as Marty Zucker & the Falcons. We figured we might as well give the folks a hint as to what we’re all about. Robert Pina will begin working with us this month behind the kit. He is a fine drummer and we’re very excited to welcome him into the fold. I would like to thank Tommy Vilela for all the work he did for us this year. He is a great musician, and a great guy, and was instrumental in helping this project get off the ground. I’m sure he’ll be successful wherever he lands (Portland?). Upcoming show information will be available here soon.

My dear friend, and drummer extrordinare……

…..Jim Lofrano, passed away early Monday morning. His musical contributions have remained unparalleled, and he was working on the latest Falcons recording as recently as late February. The greatest drummer that I ever played with; an assessment that most of my musical colleagues would agree with. But he will mostly be remembered for the inspiring life he led, filled with humor and camaraderie, despite having to deal with the physical setbacks of MD for most of his life. There will never be another like Jim; rest assured, he’s cracking some souls up in heaven right now, delivering one liners from the one place where he had no peers, his seat behind a drum kit.

Marty Zucker & The Falcons would like to thank……..

Marty Zucker & The Falcons

so good to see me     See them on their world tour stop in L.A. at the Mint on Jan 9, 2010 @ 8 p. m. The legendary supergroup of the new decade are Marty Zucker — formerly the original singer of The Quick, The Falcons and sax player for the Three O’Clock and the Plimsouls. Rich Hunter – the classically trained guitarist you wish you were. Chris Silagyi — keyboards, guitarist and singer — A former member of pop band 20/20 who issued real records. Kit Dennis — bassist. A veteran musician and actor extraordinaire. Tommy Vilela — the natural drummer without issues. Their latest CD “So Good To See Me” produced by Rich Hunter featuring all their hits is now available . The CD includes contributions by John Clancy (keys) and Jim Lofrano (drums). Video of previous incarnations of the group are on the video page. The L.A. based band began their illustrious journey with ex-Quick members Marty Zucker (lead singer/sax), Steven Hufsteter (guitar/composer) and Danny Benair (drums) plus Billy Persons (bass) and Mike Mariano (keyboards/singer). During their initial years the music incorporated the pop/rock/R&B and soul genres. Chuck Berry chose the Falcons as his backup band to play a benefit concert at the Hollywood Palladium for payment of back taxes. Hufsteter later joined the Cruzados which became Tito and Tarantula. Benair and Mariano were members of the Three O’Clock and Persons played for the Gun Club and Joykiller. Due to their ongoing popularity, the band moved forward with Zucker [the artist formerly known as "Martino"] writing the songs, ditching the sax and recruiting musicians over the ensuing years. They became known as Marty Zucker & the Falcons. Songs labeled © are Copyright © 2009 Zucker Music. All Rights Reserved. **produced by Steve Deutsch. for the remaining vacant spot in Marty Zucker & the Falcons. Finding a drummer has been a little harder than the other positions, but we’ve heard some great percussionists and want to thank them all for participating. In the mean time we continue working on our recorded product for the upcoming cd. The current members of the live performance group are, Marty Zucker (vocals/composer), Rich Hunter (guitar/vocals),
Chris Silagyi (keyboards/guitar/vocals), and Kit Dennis (bass). Jim Lofrano continues to fill in on drums for the recorded product. To get an idea of
